AI Job Opportunities and Earning Potential
AI and its related technology are fast becoming some of the highly desirable and profitable career choices. But with its growing popularity, it also creates many ethical questions. Can the artificial intelligent systems created by AIs be used for unethical purposes? Can an artificial intelligent system be as good or even better than a human in an ethical sense? And if so, can an artificially intelligent system create a consciousness or may it simply be a computer? These are all ethical and philosophical questions of mind control and manipulation that have been plaguing the minds of scientists and philosophers for decades now.
One of the first questions that arise when discussing Artificial Intelligent Systems is whether or not they can ever be used ethically. Is a creation of a computer good or bad and therefore should we be able to create robots that look like a human and act like one as well? Will such a system be as good as a research scientist? To answer these questions one must understand how AI job requirements and qualifications work.
The majority of positions requiring AI qualifications today do not require a bachelor degree in computer science, despite what many marketing departments would have you believe. Many companies, especially those in the field of business, prefer an entrepreneur who has a bachelor degree in one of a number of fields and who can demonstrate the ability to develop a company website and market the products of that company online. This combination of knowledge and experience, combined with the ability to code and program a robotic scientist, makes the perfect candidate for an AI job. Again, this all factors in the need for job specialization.
Those interested in a career in AI and similar fields will find a bachelor degree in computer science and intelligence very helpful. It is important to realize that the job field does not solely depend on a bachelor degree. In fact, there are positions that do not require a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at all! It is possible to start working with AI today without going to college, but those with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science may wish to consider a more specialized degree in AI after they have received some more specialized training.
The types of jobs available require different levels of education and expertise. Those seeking a position in AI need to realize that a basic qualification bachelor’s degree is required. However, those wishing to specialize in AI need to have additional training or be capable of applying specific knowledge gained from their education to a broader career. Specialization requires a post graduate degree from either an AI institute or university, and additional training or certifications. For those wishing to apply specifically for positions in AI, additional qualifications are required including a specialized Masters or PhD in AI.
In addition to the variety of positions available within AI, specialists also exist within each industry. While computer science professionals are typically found in the marketing, advertising and research areas, there are many ai professionals who focus on research and development. Specialists in this area include engineers, strategists, and researchers. A recent survey showed that many AI professionals were self-employed, working for themselves and pursuing work from home or from their own companies.
The AI job outlook for the future is optimistic. However, the need for qualified ai professionals is growing, especially given the challenges presented by the current economic recession. With the expansion of Artificial Intelligence, the need for highly skilled ai professionals will only continue to grow. This should lead to more job opportunities in the coming years for those interested in pursuing an AI career. Jobs in AI can often be found through networking, and through existing companies that work in the field. Hiring in the AI field can be difficult given the high demand for a talented ai professional.
